New Garbage Collection Changes
Council has recently undertaken a review of its garbage collection service and collection times/days.
Due to double shifts being undertaken, resulting in Occupation Health & Safety issues, and other in-efficiencies with the old run, a new garbage collection run has been developed.
All garbage collection runs are to be conducted between 3am to 11.30am Monday to Friday. Existing collection runs that are affected are as follows:
Alice Edwards Village changed from Tuesday afternoons to Monday mornings. Please see yellow section on map.
Residents in the western end of Hope Street changed from Tuesday afternoons to Monday mornings. Please see yellow section on map.
Southern end changed from Monday afternoons to Tuesday mornings. Please see pink section on map.
Northern end changed from Tuesday afternoons to Wednesday mornings. Please see green section on map.
Eastern end changed from Wednesday nights to Thursday mornings. Please see blue section on map.
North Bourke (includes Polygonum Road, High Street & Mitchell Highway) changed from Wednesday nights to Friday mornings. Please see orange section on map.
Trade waste collections (commercial businesses, schools, caravan parks etc) will be conducted on Tuesday and Friday mornings ONLY. All bins for the new collection runs will be required to be placed out for collection from 3am onwards.

These changes are to be implemented on Monday 26 January 2009 (Australia Day).
